The Budget 2010

The Budget is the Government's annual financial statement and review of taxation levels. It also includes the government's future financial strategy and economic forecast.

The speech usually contains two parts:

a summary of the UK's current economic situation
details of specific measures related to revenue and expenditure that the government intends to implement
It's usually in this second part that tax changes that affect businesses are announced. These might be, for example, any amendments to Corporation Tax or VAT rates.

Business Link will be publishing two sets of analysis - the first once the Chancellor has sat down, after 14:00, and the second more detailed analysis around 18:00. Please visit the Business Link website on the day of the Budget, Wednesday 24 March 2010, to see how the Budget impacts you and your business.
